Mum mum mummm

Yesterday Michael and I did a lot of running around. One of our stops was at a thrift store. I'd been there before but not since we last lived here. I was in the area and decided to check it out. I've been wanting to find some kind of furniture and fix it up, just for the experience and fun of it. As we were walking in I saw a white rocking chair for 30 bucks. I immediately was drawn to it since I've been reading this book and want to get into a night time routine with Michael. I think rocking him with the TV on in the same room doesn't help. So I bought the chair which needs a little love. It's actually a smaller rocking chair so it's the perfect size for me. The cushions are actually in good shape but not the color scheme I'm going for in Michael's room. I bought some fabric to try to cover them, I might need your help mom! I haven't determined whether I can paint over it or if I need to remove the paint and start over. I don't think I'll stain it - if it is even possible. I want to freshen up the white & cover the cushions with a pretty green fabric. What do ya think?

Oh yeah back to the title of my post. Yesterday while we were out Michael would whine a little and say Mum mum mummm. I think he knows what it means now. He was saying it in his highchair when he was done too, of course along with whining.

Another update on Michael, he has tooth number 2! On Sunday he also stood by himself for about 5 seconds. I was pretty excited.

Cute chair Kels, I think that whatever you do with it will be great. Happy Michael fills out that chair, there won't be much room for you to sit in it too ;)

Very cute find. I can't wait to see how you fix it up. Michael is just learning all kinds of new things--what a smart boy!

Just sand it a little and throw some more white paint on there. If you are worried about lead (which I never really think about), you can get a let swipe test at Lowes/Home Depot, I believe.

Make sure you wash those cushions on hot/hot with a lot of bleach, then just measure them, make som pillow case/slip cushion type things, and sew em' up. It's super simple. Let me know if you need help.

p.s... cute chair- wish I would have seen it first! I hate my rocker/glider... want to trade? ;)

I just want to clarify that Michael was already standing when he was standing by himself it's the fact that he didn't fall immediately when he let go.

Cute chair Kelsey and a great buy. Can't wait to see how you dress it up. Mattie is going to nuts for your new background. I can just hear it now. "Have you seen Kelsey new background"?

Michael is getting cuter and cuter if that is even possible. Those legs are killing me with pinchable delight.

OOh your project looks like fun. I would probably just paint the chair and make some cushion covers. Well actually I would probably "just think" I was going to do all of that and then 10 years later it would still be sitting around in my attic as one of my "to do" projects. Hopefully, you won't take after me! Mom
