April 5th Michael lost his training wheels! He learned to ride without them the same time as his two neighborhood friends Eliana and Allison.

Let's play ball! Season 2
Michael's second season of playing T-ball was another great success! Joe helped coach and did a great job of trying to keep it fun for all the kids. They were the Mets this year with orange and blue with their black pants.
Can you see him doing math on his hands... not sure what he was adding up. He can never get enough math. Love the girl yawning. ha ha
Joe really enjoys coaching and the kids really love him. He does a great job. Michael really did good and tried his best. At times he wouldn't run fast but then we'd encourage him to pick it up and he took off.
Great Season Mets!

March 2013
Primary Easter Party on the 16th: I'm the secretary in Primary and love it! The Presidency threw and fun party and I helped with the photo booth. There were cute props of bow ties on sticks and bunny noses on sticks and such but my boys didn't want to use them. :)

March 17th: Celebrating St. Patrick's Day with hats made at story time the week before.

Fell asleep in the car on the way to the park so he napped on the picnic table until he woke up to play.
March 23rd at Military Easter Egg hunt:
Joe was trying to give Michael some tips before they let the kids run free. Michael did well but I remember being worried if he'd get any. The kids were so fast it took him a bit to get one in his basket. He did well but was disappointed he didn't get a ticket like Landon did to turn in for a basket.

Landon had a hand on Daddy, thought it was sweet. Only one parent was allowed on the inside of the baseball field, then they later decided to remove all the parents.

Landon with his basket he won (I won). When it was his turn on the field they said go and he turned away and cried. So I picked him up and helped him get two... barely. It was a mad house. The parents were going crazy getting the eggs for their toddlers. I'm glad I got two and luckily one had a winning ticket for a basket.

Landon wasn't afraid of the Easter Bunny this year!
March 29th: Dying Easter Eggs with neighbors. We have the best neighbors! Love getting together and doing fun holiday activities with them. Michael and Eliana are quite the pair. They can't get enough of each other and play very well together.

March 30: Preparing for Easter dinner with friends by making a dessert for the kids, rice crispy treats. We decorated them with cute pastel sprinkles.

March 31: Easter Sunday. Loving their baskets with fun things inside.

Happy Easter! He is Risen.

Quiet Books
At church a mom asked me about making quiet books since I am in charge of our play group. I thought it was a great idea so I decided to take charge. I spent a lot of time on these books, researching and hand drawing page ideas, shopping online and in stores for the best deals(with coupons) for items needed, and putting them together with the help of everyone that wanted one. Because I made sure to find the best deals and most cost effective way of making them, each book only cost $10 for the materials. We met one night a week at a generous friend's house that had a lot of room for everyone to work on the books. She and I spent a lot of extra time sewing the books to get ahead for the next week. Lots of others also helped by taking things home and working on them as well. It took us under two months to make them all. We ended up making 33 books since several moms were involved(16!) and some wanted to make a few as gifts. I'm happy when we finished them up but glad we did it. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed working on a project and improving my sewing skills. I created a tutorial dedicated to the cover of the quiet book for those that weren't able to make it the last night we made them. Scroll down to the bottom to see all the pages we made. Here is the link if you'd like to check out all our pages...

Before and After dresser
I've been looking for a dresser on Craigslist for a few months and wasn't finding what I was looking for. I didn't want to spend much but needed to like the style. I ended up finding this one knowing I needed to remove the old tape residue and give it a nice coat of paint. I only paid $35 I think. Joe bought me 4 cans of black paint and it turned out really nice. It's not as sturdy as I'd like for it to be but we'll see how long it lasts us.

It's amazing what black spray paint can do! All ready for Michael's room!

Nana and Papa come to visit
Joe's parents were able to visit with us for a week. Joe's dad, Gary, had to attend a seminar in Dallas but let Debbie stay with us. This was the first time she'd seen our house so it was nice to have her be able to stay with us. We had a great time and kept ourselves busy. The boys really enjoyed all the time they were able to have with them both. Here are a few things we did.
Sunday Best
Debbie and I have never had the chance to attend the Temple together. We now share our first time doing a session at the San Antonio Temple. I was so glad she thought of going together. So thankful the Temple has a few items for those visiting from out of town. We had a wonderful time and stopped afterward at Great Harvest Bread. Anytime I go near that side of town I have to stop there and buy some delicious bread.
Nana's turn to read books

Papa's turn
Getting cozy with Nana while waiting for dinner to be ready
Michael really enjoyed playing with Papa's Ipad.
Celebrating Nana's birthday at a Mexican restaurant.
Michael watching the lady make homemade tortillas.
Once home from the restaurant we brought out the freezer pie and sang to Nana!
Landon getting comfy on Papa's suitcase. One way to not let him leave.
We also headed to the Zoo one day and had a great time. The butterfly pin Nana's wearing is part of the gift we got for her while there, when she wasn't looking. We also gave her framed family pictures.
The boys minus Landon also went to Home Depot for their Kid's shop program on Saturday morning. They really enjoyed it and Michael brought home a cool race car he helped put together. Joe and Gary brought home things for around the house, including a new plant/tree for our backyard.
A few days after Nana and Papa left the boys got to work...

First fishing trip 2013
This picture of Landon pretty much sums up our fishing trip:
cold & disappointing
Michael actually had a great time fishing that day even though it was cold and windy. We had a hard time finding the right spot to fish, we ended up moving around to a few different places. We didn't get there early enough so a lot of the better locations were already taken. Michael was optimistic though about catching a fish. He was sure they were going to catch one, otherwise it wasn't fishing.
Landon and I ended up mostly hanging out in the car snacking. Not realizing we were going to be there long and running out of food Landon and I went and got some burgers. He fell asleep on the drive over and took a nice nap before waking up and enjoying his meal.
Joe and Michael ended up with nice matching sunburns. We didn't even think about needing sunscreen in February. Poor Michael's face and ears got pretty red. He even had a blister that I had to pop while he was sleeping. Over all we all had fun and next time I'll be sending Joe and Michael off on their own first thing in the morning.
